Casa Vialba

Casa Vialba is almost a tiny village resting on the gentle flanks of a hill overlooking the river Carpina and the country lane that winds it way up the valley. The main house, its 3 annexes and stables are surrounded by 60 acres of forests and countryside, including a small vineyard.

From the estate, the only other buildings you can see are those in the distant village of Montone and the Rocca d'Aires, a medieval castle dominating the valley from its far away hilltop. The houses have been meticulously restored to provide all modern comforts while retaining their original charm. You will be living in Lavender House and/or Olive House. Each house has its own garden, patio, barbeque area and private pool.

The night of your arrival you will be invited to cocktails and a candlelight dinner with the owners at the main residence. Thereafter they will let you enjoy your privacy unless you need their assistance. They will do everything to ensure that you spend a truly unforgettable holiday at Casa Vialba, and whilst you are their guests, you will enjoy the privacy of your own country house.

The Estate offers two charming and totally independent restored stone houses, Lavender and Olive.

Casa Vialba is an ideal location for riding. The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful and is laced with well maintained bridleways. You can ride for miles in all directions without encountering a paved road, taking in the views and observing the wildlife up close.

Julie Narten, one of the owners, is an experienced rider and show-jumper and her daughter Virginie is also a keen horsewoman. It did not take them long to ensure that Casa Vialba become home lovely mares; Luna, Caramel, Mila, Shakira, Quiz and Bianca. Many guests have asked for the opportunity to ride, so they have decided to make this activity available to guests at Vialba.

Vialba is now an equestrian centre affiliated to “ENGEA”, a national riding association which promotes riding in the countryside for people of all ages and of all levels. There is a fully equipped centre with stables, a riding enclosure and access to the endless bridleways surrounding the estate.

The owners are pleased to offer their guests riding lessons in the enclosure, or take experienced riders out onto the bridleways.
