Naturalistic Tour

The Alta Valle del Tevere is located in a splendid position from the point of view of scenic tourist: all the area is completely immersed in green and that makes it a particularly attractive place for the lovers of nature and for those that, tired of the traffic and the traffic jams of the city, want to pass a day it the open air, far away from the smog and the stress of the city.

Among the most interesting, from the point of view of the naturalist, one cannot overlook Lisciano Niccone, from which one can leave for excursions in a natural and sill intact atmosphere, and la Cima Gasparini, placed on the road that leads from Lisciano Niccone to Tuoro, in which one enjoys a splendid view of Lago Trasimeno. This, however, is only a small example of the natural beauties of Alta Valle del Tevere, in fact all the eight comunities that compose it are immersed in the typical scenery of the area, formed by an almost uncontaminated nature, from the sweet hills and from the age-old woods.

Other than have a direct contact with the nature, in Alta Valle del Tevere, it is also possible to practice many sports of every type (from fishing to atlethics, from tennis to canoeing, etc..) in adequate structures and always immersed in the green, or one can visit Terme di Fontecchi (4 km from Cittą di Castello), where it is possible to care or prevent different diseases in the modern, but historically and traditionally rich, alkaline hot springs.

Also, for the lovers of good cooking, it is possible to taste all the gourmet specialties of the area, such as the best wines, truffles and salamis typically still manufactured with traditional and intelligent methods.
